A full body massage includes the back, legs including feet, arms including hands, head, neck and shoulders, and buttocks and abdomen. Buttocks and abdomen are massaged through the sheets to avoid uncovering sensitive areas. Underwear is left on during the massage.
Craniosacral techniques use light, slow pressure to correct imbalances in your body’s tissues. It’s usually described as feeling like being “opened up”. It’s good for people who find Swedish massages too stimulating or aggressive, or people who are very “in tune” with their body and enjoy feeling the subtle shifts and releases. If you like a more active, sports-type massage, you probably won’t enjoy craniosacral.
Massages are performed with light to moderate pressure. If you want a deep tissue massage, see an RMT. If you “can’t feel the massage if it doesn’t hurt,” that probably means you have a pinched nerve which is causing a decrease of sensation and it’s not something to be proud of.
All full body massages can include scalp massage, the add-on will dedicate 15 additional minutes to it.
